The Annual Reno Conference on the Integration of Behavioral Health into Primary Care
- The First Reno Conference on Medical Cost Offset was convened at the University of Nevada, Reno in January 1999 and was co-sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno and the Nicholas & Dorothy Cummings Foundation.
- The Second Reno Conference, again on Medical Cost Offset, was convened at the University of Nevada, Reno in May 2002 and was co-sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno and The Nicholas & Dorothy Cummings Foundation.
- The Third Reno Conference on Medical Cost Offset and Behavioral Health in Primary Care was convened at the University of Nevada, Reno in May 2002, and was co-sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno and The Nicholas & Dorothy Cummings Foundation.
- The Fourth Reno Conference on Substance Abuse Treatment in Primary Care was convened at the University of Nevada, Reno in May 2003, and was co-sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno and The Nicholas & Dorothy Cummings Foundation.
- The Fifth Reno Conference on Psychological Approaches to Disease Management in Primary Care was convened in May 2004 at the University of Nevada, Reno and was co-sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno and The Nicholas & Dorothy Cummings Foundation.
- The Sixth Reno Conference convened a small group of behavioral health experts that interacted with members of President Bush’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health and functioned as an ad hoc think tank on mental health issues in various venues including Reno, Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, Washington, DC and Stamford, CT. It functioned as a small, loosely knit group over the period of October 2004 to April 2005 and addressed a broad array of problems, including behavioral healthcare delivery, the future of mental health in general healthcare, the role of behavioral health in social security and health savings accounts, and finally the morphology of mental health in universal healthcare. It was supported by The Nicholas & Dorothy Cummings Foundation.
